Dremel DIGILAB 3D45 3D Printer

Web Code: MP805
£3,758.00
Easy to use and ideal for secondary and higher education because there is the option to use PLA, Eco-ABS or Nylon filaments. Eco-ABS and Nylon filaments print higher strength pieces so are used for making engineering parts. However PLA is by far the most popular because of the colour range and fume extraction is not required. It has WiFi connectivity for remote printing and build updates and has an integrated camera for video/image capture and remote monitoring if required. This model should be connected to ventilation systems and fume extraction only when using Eco-ABS or Nylon. The printers doors do not lock but will need to be closed prior to printing to prevent hot filaments causing damage to skin. If the doors open during printing a warning notice will appear.

3D printing lesson plans are available to purchase via the Dremel DIGILAB website. .

    Which Software Do You Need?

You may already have the correct software but if not see right for some options available to purchase or download for free. Please note: Dryad Education doesn’t sell software.
  • Firstly, use CAD software to design a 3D shape and save as a STL file format.
  • Secondly, use 3D printer slicer software which will convert a STL file to a .gcode so that it can print your 3D object
If you don’t have the correct design software or time to produce a 3D CAD drawing there are some readymade 3D designs free to download from websites such as www.dremel3D.com and www.thingiverse.com. WARNING! Tip: Choose something small so it doesn’t take ages to print!
