White Spirit

White Spirit is a versatile solvent for oil painting and printmaking, used to thin oil-based colour, adjust consistency and increase transparency. Ideal for traditional oil painting techniques, it can be added sparingly to oil paint for a more fluid application and transparent layers.

For printmaking, White Spirit can be used with oil-based block printing colours to increase transparency, particularly when building up layered prints. It is also an effective cleaning solvent for removing oil-based paint and ink from brushes, palettes, rollers, tools and printing equipment after use.
