Specialist Crafts Synthetic Raffia is a soft, pliable and strong material for weaving, basketry, decoration and a wide range of textile and craft projects. Unlike loose raffia strands, each length is tightly wound onto a reel, helping prevent tangles and making it much easier to dispense, manage and store in a busy classroom.

Its flexibility makes it easy to manipulate through woven structures, while its strength allows students to build up more substantial decorative and three-dimensional pieces. Use it for weaving, basket making, wrapping, tying, embellishment and experimental textile work.
